OUR COMMITTEES
YBS is comprised of several committees, spearheaded by our very own appointed members. Please see descriptions of each committee below!
spiritual life
Committe will be responsible for organizing community worship events, Chapel worship, as well as Weekly Prayer. The chair is responsible for organizing two major worship services each semester along with the Spirutal Life Committee. (One on campus service and one off-campus service)

social media and correspondence
Committee shall coordinate and maintain all marketing and advertising for YBS sponsored events via YBS social media outlets. (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Website, E-Blasts)

lectures
Committee will be responsible for organizing talks and lectures that are relevant to the black theological community by sustaining the Brown Bag lunch lecture series and the Parks-King Lecture. Additionally, the chair will organize one major lecture per semester.
Chair- Leonard Curry, MDiv '13, STM '14
special events
Committee will coordinate fellowship events among YBS members. The chair will be responsible for having at least one event each month as well as organizing holiday-themed socials. (Christmas Gathering, Valentine’s Tea, etc)

SPEAK
The chair shall be the liaison between the SPEAK organization and the Yale Black Seminarians.

community engagement
The chair shall facilitate and coordinate opportunities for YBS members to engage Greater New Haven in community service and participate in other community sponsored events such as the Walk for Autism, Ross-Woodward partnership, and CT Food Bank Holiday Food Drive. The chair will be responsible for organizing at least two major community service events each semester.
